Check hours and pay
Attended shifts and separately logged work appear in the hours records. Use Hours and Approvals according to your permissions. Don’t add a separate hours entry for a shift that is already recorded.
Set up pay
Section titled “Set up pay”In Settings → Hours, pay and expenses, review the pay settings. The tab name changes when Pay for hours is switched off.
- A person’s pay type is Unpaid, Hourly or Salaried. Only Hourly produces an amount to pay.
- A personal rate takes precedence, then the relevant role rate for their age, then the standard rate.
- Pay from controls which attended shifts and logged hours receive pay. Changing it to an earlier date can bring earlier entries into approvals.
- The attendance basis can use scheduled times, actual check-in/out times, times limited to the scheduled shift or rounded times. Review the choice before processing a period.
Review and pay
Section titled “Review and pay”- Check the period and whose records you are viewing.
- Review submitted hours and any attendance differences. Correct an entry if needed before payment.
- Approve the entries you can approve. You cannot manually approve your own.
- Check the list ready to pay and each person’s subtotal.
- Use the pay export for your payroll provider or accountant.
- When payment has happened outside the app, Mark as paid and keep an appropriate reference.
My Nine to Five does not run payroll, calculate tax or transfer wages. Salaried and unpaid people’s hours can still be tracked and approved without an hourly pay amount.
If something has no amount, check the pay type, rate and Pay from date. Moving an entry back from paid requires a reason, which is kept in the Activity log.
